ICCS is a non-profit private law body associated with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens. ICCS was established in 1989 by the Ministry of Education of Greece in order to promote research and development activity in all diverse aspects of computer and telecommunications systems and their applications. The Information Management Unit (IMU) of ICCS will participate in MELODIC. IMU is staffed with three faculty members, seven post-doctoral senior researchers and twelve researchers. The research activities of IMU focus on: cloud computing, cloud service brokerage technologies, service-oriented computing, context-aware recommenders, multi-criteria decision making (MCDM), knowledge and semantic technologies and workflow management. In terms of application domains, our research focuses on: decision support systems, e-business, software engineering and knowledge management. Since its establishment IMU has actively contributed in 30 research and development projects, of which 5 are currently active. The research work of ICCS is funded by these programs and institutions: the ICT programme of the European Commission; the Operational Program for the Information Society of the Greek Ministry of Economy and Finance; and the research programs of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology of the Greek Ministry of Development.
